One of the main priorities of WssTP is to contribute to the shaping of European water-related policy and funding programmes and to facilitate members involvement in projects. To this end WssTP informs the European Commission what the R&D and innovation priorities of the water sector are and actively facilitates its members involvement in successful project consortia by organising brokerage events and providing them with a thorough briefing on how to successfully respond to calls for proposals. An analyses of the 2013 FP7 Water inno-demo call has revealed that WssTP members had a success rate of 54% compared to an average success rate of 13%.
WssTP considers projects as associated to WssTP if the following criteria are met:
- The project is line with the WssTP Vision and SRA,
- The coordinator of the project is a WssTP member, and/or
- At least 20% of the project budget is allocated to WssTP members and/or
- At least 20% of the consortium members are WssTP members”
